
Dr. Gautam R. Korakavi was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and grew up playing basketball, golf, and singing in the school choir. He graduated with University Honors from the University of Michigan in 2013 with a degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology. He then performed research at Columbia University before becoming the first member of his family to attend medical school. After completing his MD at Central Michigan University in 2019, he completed his residency training at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH. He then went on to complete Laryngology fellowship at UCLA with special focus on the areas of care for the professional voice, swallowing disorders, and management of airway problems. He further dedicates himself to the field by serving on a committee for the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
Outside the office. Dr. Korakavi enjoys traveling, cooking (and eating), musical theater, and rooting for his Michigan Wolverines. His peers have described him as an empathetic provider who excels in assessing patients' history to treat the full individual rather than singular symptoms.
